Britta van Beers is professor of biolaw and bioethics at the department of Legal Theory, Faculty of Law, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. In her teaching and research she explores the le­gal-philo­soph­i­cal mean­ing(s) of con­cepts such as per­son, hu­man­ity and dig­nity in various legal-ethical contexts, ranging from assisted reproductive technologies to personalized medicine, from gene editing to surrogacy, and from biomedical tourism to euthanasia.
