Leonardo Fogassi is Professor of Human Physiology at the Università degli Studi di Parma in Parma, Italy. His research focuses on the sensori-motor transformations operated by the cerebral cortex and the role of motor cortex in action perception. Some of his recent publications include: “Mirror neurons responding to the observation of ingestive and communicative mouth actions in the monkey ventral premotor cortex” (European Journal of Neuroscience, 2003) and “Hearing sounds, understanding actions: action representation in mirror neurons” (Science, 2002).
