New STI Board Meets to Set Future Strategy

After having signed an agreement with IESE, STI welcomes to its Board of Directors 3 new board members from IESE and another from the University of Navarra. The new board met on July 3 to set a strategy that will open the door for closer cooperation between the two institutions.

Social Trends Institute has signed an agreement with IESE Business School whereby STI makes its resources, both financial and administrative, available to IESE professors and other invited scholars to carry out research on the global social trends most relevant to business. STI and IESE consider that such cooperation will bring about an improvement in their own activities and, therefore, a greater impact on society. In particular:

With regard to facilitating this agreement, IESE and STI – which retain their institutional independence – decided to work together on STI’s Board of Directors. IESE professor and former Dean, Jordi Canals, serves as Vice President, Jaume Vidal, IESE’s General Administrator, comes on board as Treasurer; and Eric Weber, professor and Associate Dean of IESE, joins as board member. Professor Ana Marta González of the University of Navarra, who has been Academic Director of a branch of STI investigation since its beginnings, also joins the board.

Carlos Cavallé, Dean emeritus of IESE and STI Founder and President, remains Chairman of the Board. Existing members Andrew MacDougall, in Toronto and Federico Riera Marsá in New York continue to serve in their positions, and Tracey O’Donnell remains Secretary.
