The work converges on the exploration of innovative business models and practices aimed at fostering economic and social resilience (i) within disadvantaged urban communities and (ii) amongst different stakeholders integrated into the firm governance. They expect their findings to “illuminate pathways towards more inclusive and resilient socio-economic models, contributing significantly to the academic and societal discourse around the notion of a thriving society.”
The project is to include three studies: ESG Strategy, Firm Location, and Economic Performance; Stakeholder Governance, Economic Performance and Social Impact in Challenging Urban Environments; and Multi-stakeholder Governance and Economic Performance.
Two other IESE faculty members – entrepreneurship Professor Desirée Pacheco and David Wehrheim, associate professor of strategic management – will assist them. The team also includes two external scholars – Rodolphe Durand, professor of strategy and business policy at HEC Paris, and Trevor Young-Hyman, assistant professor of business administration and sociology at the University of Pittsburg’s Katz School of Business.
