Håkon Larsen is professor at the faculty of Social Sciences Department of Archivistics, Library and Information Science at the Oslo Metropolitan University, as well as a Faculty Fellow at the Center for Cultural Sociology at Yale University. His research interests include cultural sociology, media and communication, and cultural policy. In most of his work he employs a cultural sociological perspective, and he has published several articles in international and Norwegian journals. In 2013 he published a book in Norwegian on cultural sociology (Den nye kultursosiologien, Universitetsforlaget). His PhD thesis in sociology in 2011 (University of Oslo) was on the legitimation of public service broadcasting in Norway and Sweden during the 2000s.
