Antonio Acín is an ICREA Professor at the ICFO-Institut de Ciencies Fotòniques, where he leads the Quantum Information Theory group. Prior to his current position, he was a post-doctoral fellow in the Group of Applied Physics of the University of Geneva. He received his PhD in Theoretical Physics from the Universitat de Barcelona in 2001. In 2008 he was awarded a Starting Grant from the European Research Council (ERC). His research interests range from abstract concept to applied problems in Quantum Information Theory, with an emphasis in Quantum Cryptography and Entanglement Theory. More recently, the group activities have been enlarged to other areas, such as Quantum Optics and Many-Body Physics.
