He has authored 120 scientific essays, as well as of dozen of scientific books, among which Systems Biology (Springer Protocols, 2017) and Network-based Pharmacology and Personalized Systems Approach in Bio-medicine: Approaching Human Complex Diseases: Network-Based Pharmacology and Systems Approach in Bio-Medicine (Springer, 2020).

Main research fields can be summarized as follows:

  • Systems Biology approach in the integrative understanding of cell and tumor biology, namely by focusing on cell phenotypic transition, tumor reversion and cell- microenvironment cross-talk
  • Biophysical constraints in carcinogenesis and cell fate commitment
  • Inositol in physiology and pathology
  • Metabolism and pharmacodynamics of network pharmacology, focusing on Inositol and Melatonin as pleiotropic-like drugs
  • Cytoskeleton and fractal shape analysis
  • Space Biomedicine
