STI Expert Nicolas Gisin Awarded the 2014 Marcel Benoist Prize

Professor Gisin has been awarded Switzerland’s highest scientific distinction.

Gisin, Director of the Applied Physics Group at the University of Geneva, will receive the prize on October 29 at his University’s Science Campus. Serge Haroche, 2012 Nobel Laureate in Physics , and University of Geneva Chancellor Jean-Dominique Vassalli will be among the participants at the event.  Professor Gisin’s presentation will be titled “Explorer of the world of atoms and photons.” Nicolas Gisin, who participated in STI's Experts Meeting 'Is Science Compatible with Our Desire for Freedom?',  is one of the founding researchers into quantum cryptography. His latest technological achievements are explained in this Scientific Computing article.
