Philip Brey is full professor of philosophy of technology at the University of Twente and scientific director of the 3TU.Centre for Ethics and Technology of TU Delft, TU Eindhoven and the University of Twente. He has published extensively in the areas of ethics and political philosophy of technology, philosophy and ethics of information technology, and responsible research and innovation. He has led a prestigious NWO Vici project (budget €1.25 million) for outstanding researchers (2006-2012), on the topic of new media and the quality of life. He is president of the International Society for Ethics and Information Technology, a former president of the Society for Philosophy and Technology, and a member of the editorial board of ten leading journals in his field. He currently coordinates the EU-funded project SATORI (budget 4.7 M€; satoriproject.eu) on European standards for ethical assessment of research and innovation, and is partner in the EU-funded project Responsible Industry, which investigates models of responsible innovation for industry.
