María Teresa Russo graduated in Literature and in Philosophy, obtained a Ph.D. in “Philosophy and Human Sciences Theory” from “Roma Tre” University. She is a professor of Anthropology at “Campus Bio-Medico” University in Rome; she teaches Social Ethics in “Roma Tre” University.

She is a member of the European Society of Philosophy of Medicine and Healthcare; she coordinates the scientific secretariat of the scientific journal “MEDIC. Methodology & Education for Clinical Innovation”. Her research is focused on the anthropological issues of healthcare and on the transformations of the female body. Among her publications on these topics are Corpo, salute, cura. Linee di antropologia biomedica (Rubbettino, 2002); La ferita di Chirone. Itinerari di antropologia ed etica in medicina (Vita e Pensiero, 2006).
