Currently a post-doctoral research fellow at the Office of Population Research and a Lecturer in the Department of Sociology at Princeton University, Dr. Margarita Mooney received her Ph.D. in sociology from the same institution in the fall of 2004. She is currently working on her book manuscript entitled, “Beyond the Mountain: Haitian Religion in the Diaspora”, which will be published by the University of California Press in 2007. Her other work has appeared in Social Forces and Ethnic and Racial Studies, In her post-doctoral fellowship, Dr. Mooney is expanding her interests into higher education as the project manager for the National Longitudinal Study of Freshmen (NLSF), which seeks to explain the achievement gap among different ethnic groups at the top universities in the United States.
