Alyson Warhurst is Honorary Professor at Warwick Business School. Previously, she has been Professor of Environmental Strategy and Director of the International Center for the Environment at the University of Bath; Program Officer at the Canadian Government's International Development Research Center; and Research Fellow in the Science Policy Research Unit of the University of Sussex.
Professor Warhurst has served as Director of several research programs including Environmental and Social Performance Indicators and Sustainability Indicators. She is a member of the Institute of Mining and Metallurgy. She has worked with UNCTAD, OECD, World Bank, IDRC (Canada), World Economic Forum and international companies on business and development. Additionally, she is the Founding director of the social enterprise and advisory firm Maplecroft. She has advised De Beers and international humanitarian and human rights organizations, among others, on corporate social responsibility.
Her research interests include environmental and social performance and strategic decision making; strategy and business challenges of the working in poor developing countries.
